Wedding Planning
So, you are getting married?
Dear Bride & Groom:
First off let me say a big congratulations on your engagement and your upcoming wedding. You are about to take one of the biggest and most important steps in your life. Being married is one the greatest joys in life. I said "I do" years ago and I am so glad that I did. Me and bride are still to this day happily married and now have two awesome children. I still remember "our big day" and how we wanted to make sure that everything was "just right!" It is for this very reason that I want to share some thoughts, ideas and suggestions with you so that hopefully your wedding will be just as special as mine was.
When It Comes To Hiring The Right DJ, Be Careful Who You Choose! Please Take A Few Minutes And Read This Entire Page. I Think You Will Understand Just How Important The DJ You Hire For Your Wedding Really Is.
Here Are Some Things To Remember When It Comes To Having A DJ...
1. While the ceremony is important as well as the pictures and the meal, the fact is that your guests are going to be at the reception longer than any other part of the wedding. A typical wedding reception lasts anywhere from 3-5 hours and this where a DJ comes in handy. The last thing in the world you want is your guests having to sit in complete silence for hours.
2. The DJ is the person that keeps the eveing going as planned. Your DJ is usually the one that keeps things going throughout the reception such as: the first dance, father / daughter dance, mother / son dance, dollar dances, cake cutting, garter toss, bouqet toss and anniversay dances. All of the these are things that your guests want and expect to have if they have ever been to a wedding.
What Makes Me Qualified To Be A Professional DJ?
1. A DECADE OF EXPERIENCE! For the past 11 years, I have provided my professional services to 1000's of couples and have helped to make their wedding day unforgettable for not only them but also for their guests. I am not an amatuer that does this on the weekend to make a few extra bucks. I spend hours working on your wedding to make sure that it is everything is "just right!"
2. AFFORDABLE PRICES! When it comes to something as important as planning a wedding, I know that you have plenty of things that have to be paid for. My prices are not the cheapest but they are not the most expensive either. Due to the large number of weddings that I play at each year I am able to keep my fees at a lower rate.
3. HONEST & DEPENDABLE! Before I agree to take a wedding, I first like to talk with the couple by phone or by person (if applicable) so that I can assure them and myself that I am going to be the perfect match for them. I do not take every wedding that comes my way. I use a very honest approach when talking with a bride and groom. I feel that my services would make their wedding day extra special. I am happy to assist. However, there are times when I honestly feel that I am not the right DJ for a wedding. In either case, I will give you my honest opinion and try to help you in anyway that I can.
Now, How Would You Feel If.....
A. THE DJ COMPANY YOU HIRED SENT SOMEONE WITH VERY LITTLE OR NO EXPERIENCE AT ALL? I am amazed at the large number of so called "professional DJ companies" that have multiple DJ's that they send to a weddings. Many times these "professionals" have very little or no experience at all. In some cases, the person you talk to over the phone may not be the person that shows up to play at your wedding. How would this make you feel?
B. THE DJ YOU HIRED DID NOT SHOW UP FOR YOUR WEDDING? Through the years I have received dozens of phone calls from couples who are in a pnic because the DJ they hired called them at the last minute and canceled or even worse, did not call at all. As much as I hate to admit it, there are people out there that do just that. What makes this so bad and unprofessional is that I have talked with some of these others DJ's about how they left a bride and groom searching for a replacement at the last minute. To my surprise, they informed me that another gig came along that paid more so they took it insted. How would this make you feel?
C. THE DJ YOU HIRED WAS NOT PREPARED? Some DJ's simply do not know how to "work the crowd" and keep the reception running smoothly. There is nothing worse than having pre-selected music and special requests and the DJ not being prepared for such. As hard as it is to believe, some DJ's won't even take requests at a wedding. Instead they simply play what they "think" the crowd wants to hear. How would this make you feel?
THESE THINGS ARE NOT INTENDED TO SCARE YOU AWAYING FROM HIRING A DJ. Instead, there are all things I have either seen or heard from The sad fact is that these exact things happen all of the time. Why? Most of the time it is simply because the bride and groom went with the CHEAPEST person or comapny they could find.
